From Waste to Wonder: The Pretty Good Pots Story

Ever noticed how nature never creates waste?
Everything serves a purpose, transforms, renews. That's the philosophy behind Pretty Good Pots, though we'll admit, calling them "pretty good" is a little bit like saying the Great Barrier Reef "a nice bit of coral."

What We Really Make

At Pretty Good Pots, we believe that great design should not only look good – it should do good. That’s why all of our pot plants and planters are 3D printed and hand-finished right here in Australia using 100% recycled plastics. We’ve worked hard to make our entire supply chain as eco-friendly as we can, including ensuring that all of our packaging is recycled, and reusable, recyclable or compostable wherever possible.

While we’re proud of what we’ve achieved, we always recognise that there’s room for improvement, and we’re constantly striving to do better!

The Art of Sustainable Beauty

In our workshop, industrial plastic waste undergoes a remarkable transformation. Through precise engineering and thoughtful design, we create pieces worthy of design museums and modern homes alike. Our planters blend organic textures with cutting-edge 3D printing technology, proving that sustainability doesn't mean sacrificing sophistication. Each piece stands as testament to how beauty can emerge from what others might discard.

The Makers Behind the Magic

Pretty Good Pots is the creative collaboration of Peter Blumenthal and Julia Sorokina, two minds united by a shared vision of sustainable beauty. Peter brings his engineering prowess and environmental passion to the design process, transforming industrial challenges into elegant solutions. Meanwhile, Julia's eye for aesthetic detail and background in design ensures every piece marries form with function beautifully.
Together, they've built more than just a business – they've created a laboratory for sustainable innovation where waste materials become objects of desire. Their complementary skills and shared commitment to accessibility mean that every Pretty Good Pot isn't just an environmental statement – it's a practical piece of functional art that makes sustainability accessible to everyone.

Made with Purpose, Not Mass Production

Every Pretty Good Pot is crafted to order right here in Australia, using 100% recycled plastics. We've built our entire supply chain like a careful gardener tends their plot – thoughtfully, sustainably, and with an eye toward long-term growth. Even our packaging tells this story, being recycled, reusable, or compostable (because who needs more waste?).

A Growing Vision

Our aspirations reach beyond our workshop walls. We see a future where the whole community actively participates in the recycling process, so that plastic that would end up in landfill or the ocean finds its way to local, small-scale production houses as well as artisans and makers instead.
We're taking thoughtful steps toward building connections, exploring how community-level recycling could one day feed into a network of sustainable design and production. It's early days, but these things are already happening at a grass-roots level, and we believe these beginnings will grow into something remarkable.

Join the Revolution (It's Quite Pretty)

Whether you're a seasoned plant parent or just dipping your toes into the world of greenery, you're not just buying a planter – you're joining a movement. Every Pretty Good Pot represents a small act of rebellion against throwaway culture, wrapped in a package beautiful enough to make your fiddle leaf fig feel underdressed.
